BELIEF

Some say, there is no God at all!

No one there to hear you call,

No help, no hope, no tenderness,

When you cry out, in your distress!

There is no God! is what they say,

He would not run the World this way,

With pain and hate and sudden death,

 Sickness and cruelty to the last breath!

What then, say I, of love and joy,

Of every smiling girl and boy!

A lovers kiss, a childs caress,

Of joy and hope and tenderness.

Maybe all these testing things,

 Are just the notes played on our strings,

To see what music we may make,

Or, perhaps just for our own soul's sake!

For if after this life, there should not be,

Another life for you and me

Then hope is gone! what use is love?

Unless there is a God above!

BOB JENKINS April 2013

If I were there

 If I were there I’d set you free;

I’d cut you down from off that tree.

I’d bathe your wounds, and wash your face;

I’d dress you in the finest lace.

I’d take those thorns from off your head;

I’d lay you on a feather bed.

I’d worship You from head to toe;

I’d never, ever, let you go.

That is how I see it now ........

But if I was really in that crowd,

I’d probably snarl, and shout, and run

Just like the others, having fun.

Jeering, throwing sticks and stones

I’d do my best to break your bones;

I’d call you King, King of the Jews;

So glad I wasn’t in your shoes.

And then I’d watch you call on high

To your father, before you die.

You said, ”Father, forgive them for

They know not what they do.”

Lord Jesus you opened up the door

To the path that leads to You.

And as You take your one last breath,

I’d know that I had caused your death.

Lord, I’m sorry for the things I’ve done

I know you really are God’s Son.
